April 1st 2013

Hey mom and dad,
Happy easter to you too!!! Sunday was actually really fun, I had a great time! In the morning some members invited us over for a brunch, we had lots of food and then they had us do an easter egg hunt..haha. haven't done that in a while. Then after our wonderful church meeting we had dinner, which was also really good. So no complaints for me! It was great. Was it a good fast and testimony meeting for you? for us our fast and testimony got moved until after conference.
My new companions pretty good, he's been out about 11months and seems to be a hard worker...which is refreshing.
Oh great...I get to speak..haha. do you know what my topic's supposed to be? its weird to think thats around the corner..I should probably shut my brain off now. haha. I don't want to be distracted...I'd say i'm doing pretty well at that though. Still getting work done.
So what are you guys gonna do for spring break? just watch movies...or something fun?(as in..outside the house)
whatever you do i'm sure it'll be great.
The youth in our ward just got back from their pioneer trek so that seems to be the typical spring break story now.
Anyway, as for me i'm doing great...couldn't be better!!
Take care...and have a wonderful week! Love Elder Farnsworth

March 25th 2013

Hey mom and dad,
How's it going? I have yet to receive a hug from the adams, I think they're still out of town...
As for yorba linda, its not in our boundaries... and if it was in the past it definitely won't be now. The areas are all shrinking. Sisters are even starting to be put on bike. We just had transfers this weekend, I just got a third companion...his names elder passey and he's from richland washington..
I remember helping out with the life of christ event!!! It was pretty fun actually, good times...I hope keith enjoyed himself. Are you guys having spring break yet? Most the shcools out here will be off for the next two weeks..
I'm glad to hear josh was able to report how his mission was despite the move, I hope he's doing well :)
I'm gonna need to get katy's address now..chile should be fun!
Tell andrew I look forward to seeing him!! And I'll be waiting for the letter.
As for the byui stuff...personally I just want to be as prepared as possible for school so I don't have to worry, so whatever that entails would be helpful. I want to try my best to avoid getting into debt.
BUt yeah, I'm doing okay...still looking for people to teach, but I know something will come soon. Oh and the baptism was good too...in case you wanted to know..
Have a good week. Love, Elder Farnsworth

March 18th 2013

hey mom and dad,
Good to hear you met the Adams, they really are great! I'll be looking for that hug..haha.
I hope dad can get that new shift, it would be a bummer to see that he couldn't bowl anymore...have you gotten any new bowling balls lately?? Or does dads ball still smell like black cherry?? I wouldn't mind having one of those...
Wow, its already track season! That pretty much slipped my mind...never thought that would happen. good thing we won!! Wouldn't want river to get prideful or anything. Haha. Cause we're the best!
HEy dad, Glad to hear you're enjoying the car...sounds like a sweet ride. Does that mean you're gonna give me  the rav 4?? haha. I could take it camping...and use it to woo the ladies at school...hah. just a thought. (this time I wouldn't forget about the oil). If you still see the "College Kids" tell em I say hi!
I can't believe the ricks kids are getting old...time just doesn't seem to slow down these days.
As for my password...I have no idea...I think I still need to make one...this would sure be easier if I didn't have time restrictions...oh well, I'll figure something out. I'm sure they'll have simpathy for an RM anyway.
As for the work here, I'm enjoying it...Ofcourse I have my ups and downs here and there..but overall its been pretty good..To answer dads question...my bikes still broken...so i'm using another bike..this bikes a character builder...It doesn't really change gears very well so the hill ride up never gets old. BUt hey, my legs are getting super buff. I had an interview with president last week, it was good, my next interview will be for my outgoing...thats weird to think about . So here's an interesting event...I was invited to go to a baptism in lake elsinore this weekend!! one of the people I found is finally gonna get baptized...so i'm excited about that...her names shelby sadlack...her parents were just baptized when I was in murrieta, and now its her turn. how exciting.
But yeah, thats about it for me...It was good hearing from you guys!! have a great week.

March 11th 2013

Hey mom and dad,
It seems as though everyones getting injured!!! thats not good... at least they're still okay. I guess thats all we can ever hope for.
Yeah, its crazy its was pretty cool when I found out that The Adams were in this ward, they actually took us to the temple too...Its been fun. ABout the ward...I'm not sure what to say..its good. The people are great, many of them are active and the area we cover is one of the smallest in the stake. So when it comes to finding people to teach, our pool of investigators is kinda slim...we're still working on that. I live on a hillside...Each day we bike up the hill...and at night we come down the hill...haha. My legs are huge!  BUt yeah, thats the story!! Tell everyone I say hi!!
Love Elder Farnsworth
ps. That car sounds nice

March 4th 2013

Hey mom and dad,
So far so good...I'm enjoying my time here in corona. My bike recently got a little beat up...so i'm using another one...but the ward seems to be supportive. Its a very active area, lots of good people. There are many born again christians...the big chruch near by is called CROSS ROADS...missionaries call it the great and spacious building. haha. But good people. My companions a great guy...he's got high functioning asbergers so sometimes its a little frustrating because of his speech impediment, but that doesn't matter cuz he has a good spirit and he's a hard worker. Many people in the ward recognize the name farnsworth, they ask me about all these different people who live in california, washington, and Utah, soo...I just say"cool...we're probably related" haha. I'm not sure what else to say.
Thats exciting!!! Fast sundays are always better when the building is full and everyone goes up...I'm glad it was a good experience :)
Thats great to hear about Victor and Jodi...I always love hearing how they're doing. And I know victor was pretty excited about that, he'll do a good job.
Yes, for me I've met many great people out here...Every area I've served, I've gotten to know some really nice new faces. Its really cool when I can go to different gatherings of missionaries and know most of the people there...its just a big group of friends, last week I saw Elder Robertson...we got together with some other zones to play basketball and he was there. We talked for a while, it brought back memories!
Well, i'm glad that keith is excited about his work and the fact that they're giving dad some options at work is really a blessing too...I hope everything works out right with all of that.
BUt yeah, thats how things are for me, I'm still surviving!! The gospel is great and I really do enjoy sharing it.
Let me know what happens with dads work and whatever else is going on.. I love to know :)
ALright, I've gotta go now...Take Care...And have a good week! Love, Elder Farnsworth

Febraury 25th 2013

Hey mom and dad,
yes...I'm enjoying corona! Its a great place so far. Lots of work to be done...this ward hasn't had its own set of missionaries for quite some time now, so its gonna be fun to work with them. Our ward mission leader seems to know what he's doing too!! Its really cool. As for yorba linda...i'm not sure..I'll try and find out though.
Oh cool, thats great that sister andersen sent a message, she's one of the nicest ladies you'll ever meet. she's actually got a son on a mission now as well.
Oh, yeah...katie is leaving soon! thats crazy..if you see her could you let her know I got her letter. I might need her mission address...cuz i'm never sure how long its gonna take me to reply. Sometimes p-days are pretty crammed.
Yes!! I heard Vancouver's gonna be its own mission. Awesome!! Thats exciting. The riverside mission is actually gonna have some changes as well...They're going to make a Redlands mission and take some of our missionaries. That will all happen in july.
BUt yeah, things are going well with me. I'm enjoying my time on a bike, and trying my best to do all I can to help the ward. I can see many good things happening in the near future.
Its sad to hear that your students are cheating....but its good that you've been able to come up with ways to catch them in their tracks...I know in the long run it will help them grow, hopefully you'll see some positive changes soon.
And dad, keep up the hard work!!!! I don't know that I'd be able to do that...but I know the lord can help.
what else is new at home? How's keith enjoying his new job? Just let me know!!! Love you guys!!

Febraury 19th 2013

Hey mom and dad,
My week was pretty good, lots of good times...I just found out about transfers this weekend and now I'm in Corona! I'm serving in the citrus hills ward and my new companions Elder Wilson. I'm glad you enjoyed the picture! That was a fun night, the power went out and we were stuck in the dark for about 4 hours...
Thats great to hear about Dallin and Andrew!!! Its really gonna be nice to see them again, I'm glad they had some memorable experiences on their missions...I knew they'd do great.
So sherry's going to germany...wow! thats really cool, i'm excited for her, I know she'll be an amazing missionary. Its awesome to see how many young women are choosing to serve the lord, there's no telling how much its going to help the work progress.
Our mission just lost 11 missionaries and received 19...so the increase is about to begin!!! areas are already getting split. The ward i'm serving with used to be covered with another ward...but now we'll be able to focus all of our efforts on them. oh and i'll be on bike again!!! so that'll keep me busy :)
Dad: how's work going? any good news with your schedule?? What have you decided about retirement? How's your bowling? have you bowled a 300 yet?
Mom: How's school? are the kids learning? what movie did you guys watch? was it any good?
Well whatever's going on just let me know!!! HAve a great week!
Love, Elder Farnsworth

Febraury 11th 2013

Hey mom and dad,
Our week was pretty good, not much happened but we're pushing through looking for opportunities to do good!  We haven't had many adventures...I went on exchanges with one of the other elders on wed, when we were together we met a part member family and the lady we taught ended up being a descendant of john rowe moyle, one of the well known pioneers during the beginning of the church, so that was pretty cool. We taught her the restoration and invited her to read the book of mormon, we'll be seeing her again this week. As for my companion, he's still the same. We'll find out about transfers this weekend..I wonder what will happen!
Thats great to hear that andrew did a good job speaking for priesthood session, I wouldn't expect anything less.
Its really crazy to see all of the changes that happen over time, i'm sure dallin has grown a lot...thats awesome that he'll be home this week. woo hoo. Well, I hope everything going great at home!! Take Care

January 28th 2013

HEy mom and dad,
Its good to hear things are working out alright at home...
Thats awesome andrews coming home, it must be a very bitter sweet moment for him. It has definitely been a treat reading his emails week by week, cuz he's a stud!!
But yeah...as for me things are going great, I couldn't ask for anything better. There's so many lessons to be learned from all the people around, its crazy!! BUt its fun, I love the experience. I don't have a whole lot to say, but I know the church is true, I'm thankful for the influence of the spirit because its always there to help me out.
Well, I gotta get going...
Love you guys!!! HAve a great week!!!

January 22nd 2013

Dear mom and Dad,
I'm glad to hear gabe came home safely and was able to express himself clearly as he bore testimony of the work, its always a great thing to see how god can transform someone to becoming better and more well rounded, i'm sure thats exactly what happened to him, and i'm glad he's doing well.
I'm sorry to hear that dad still isn't getting much slack with his schedule, I can't imagine how tough it could be...keep it up dad!!
As for me and the work here, everythings going great...its amazing what can happen when you take the time to consider the feelings of another and then act on it. As I mentioned earlier, I was worried about my companion because things weren't exactly going well....but throughout the week we spent a considerable amount of time working things out...safe to say things are better than they were...and it makes me happy. Its one thing i've learned more about god...Sometimes he has a different plan for us, then we may have expected. And I'm thankful for that. I know its true.
Well i gotta get going...
Thanks for everything! Love Elder Farnsworth

January 14th 2013

Hey Mom and Dad,
This week was a good one. We were priveldged to have a mini missionary!!! His name was Bernard Pula, and he was from the ironwood ward in moreno valley. So yes, I already knew him. That made things a lot of fun. One of our first days together Brother Pula taught me a great lesson about charity, it was very inspiring. We were at jack in the box and he offered to pay for us...with his insistance we graciously accepted! it was great, we were having a good time enjoying our food, when we watched him go talk to a homeless man, he bought the stranger a burger and walked him to the bus...as I watched him go I got a clear glimpse of the saviors love...and it sunk deep within.
Lately its been difficult to stay positive, much of the weight seems to be layed on my shoulders due to my companions lack of enthusiasm to be on a mission. I'm not giving up on him, but having an extra man was very nice this week. Every appointment seemed to be filled with the spirit, I've been discovering more about the spirit and the role that it plays in teaching others...well I could see its influence take full effect on those we were teaching throughout this week. Every day was a miracle, and you could see it. We invited ralph rodriguez, one of our newer investigators to be baptized, we also invited fernando again...and both accepted. We found 2 new investigators this week. We were also able to help an excommunicated man, he hadn't said a prayer for the past 10 years, and the spirit was able to influence him and help him pray once again. All these things are a small outcome of the lords will and I'm glad that I was able to take a small part in conveying gods love to those who were in need. I know that all blessings of god are predicated upon active faith in his teachings, its something thats hard to describe with words, but I can feel it within my heart and i know its true.
I'm Glad to hear that things are continually going well at home, I'm sorry that your tooth is broken...but hey its the small and simple things that go the longest way, maybe now it'll be easier to drink with a straw...haha. at least until your tooth comes back!! Well anyway, I've gotta get going..Thanks again for everything and have an amazing week!!
Love, Elder Farnsworth

January 7th 2013

Dear mom and dad,
Thats great to hear that it snowed!!!! Those days were the best!!! To wait by the window anticipating snow to stick, as you see each snow flake get bigger and bigger...that was always exciting, haha. Now i do the same thing!! Except i wait by the window anticipating rain to fall...i see it in the distance as I watch the mountains...but it doesn't usually come...I guess thats okay though, because i never really liked rain in the first place. haha.
Its always fun to ponder over the simple things of life....It makes me think about the gospel...and how simple life can really be, as long as we give it a chance. Everyday i'm learning more and more about society, we have so much information, that we lose sight of the simple truths. It points directly to the gospel, and its role as our foundation for life...I can see how the lack of understanding can cause a dramatic downfall in the world. Because a world without god is a world destined to fail.
I understand why we need more missionaries, and its exciting to hear that they're stepping up to the plate, because every testimony counts, and the world is in desperate need of the truth, I know its true, and i'm glad to be a part of it. I'm grateful for the time you put into helping out in the ward, what you teach goes a long way. I know it did for me, the silent teaching always left a lasting impression. And dad, I'm glad that you do what you do, you're a prime example of diligience, you never give up and you always press forward, you've taught me so many things about being christlike, that I never even new. haha. But time is always honest, and my reflections have helped me see.
Thank you both for all that you do!!
- heres a quote:"..why do we fall bruce?...so we can learn to pick ourselves up.." I've seen that happen out here, its been hard for me. But I know its because God loves me, and i'm gonna finish strong!!!
I hope the both of you have a great week,
Love, Elder Farnsworth
